Hey beautiful people!
I am so excited about today’s post!
As many of you know, one of my missions with this website is to encourage women to be their best selves and to cheer you on during your journey. A couple months ago, I wrote about how important it is to know that YOU ARE ENOUGH. You can read that article here.
You are enough to be deserving of good things. Of love. Of hope. Of joy.
This daily reminder should be your anthem, y’all! God tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. As His daughters, we are set apart once we’ve welcomed Christ into our lives. We don’t need to be anything else! We are enough.
“Be still, and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10
You can rest, sister!
You are meant to take a breath.
You are loved and accepted TODAY.
So diving deeper into this subject, I thought that I would make a list of 5 things that you can do to build yourself up! Give yourself a confidence boost and step into your place as a daughter of a King.
1. Place A Reminder In Your Life
I am so excited that I was able to partner with Kristy of Love365 Boutique to bring you this beautiful bracelet as a reminder of your worth. I contacted Kristy with the idea of adding this quote to a piece of jewelry and she was so kind to make it for me! Every time I look at the bracelet, I am reminded of the simple message that I am enough.
Do you think this bracelet is as wonderful as I do? You can purchase one of your own! She’s created a listing just for y’all so that you can ALSO have a constant reminder of this message. I encourage you to splurge a little and purchase one for yourself or for someone who needs to hear this message right now.
You can purchase your own “You Are Enough” bracelet here.
Also, show her some love and follow her on Facebook here!
She posts a lot of encouraging things on her Facebook page. You can never have enough encouragement on your Facebook feed!
2. Change Your Phone Background
This is something that I always forget I can do. In college, I went through a few rough patches, and I found that changing my phone background to something inspirational kept me from totally losing it!
I’ve created some phone backgrounds with some of my favorite encouraging quotes for y’all to download and enjoy! To download, just open the image in a new tab and save the photo!
3. Read Scripture
I often forget how healing God’s word can be. After the world has knocked you down and stolen your joy, seek truth and pray the words of the Lord over yourself. Grab a nice cup of coffee, sit outside, and just read.
Sometimes I find it hard to take a breather and step away from the world to read the Bible. I feel like I’m going to forget to do something important or be late for something. This is the type of stress that God can pull you away from. Make time for God, and you’ll be surprised how rejuvenated you will feel!
4. Go For A Walk
This is something that I only recently started doing and Y’ALL.
It is sooo good.
This last year, my husband was gone for 12 weeks for law enforcement training and I was finishing out a VERY stressful job. I was all alone (except for my dog Bailey) and I needed to find an activity that relieved the plethora of stress I was facing every day.
Bailey was full of energy and needed a way to burn it off, and so I started walking her- about 9 miles a week after work. During these walks, I disconnected with my “crazy world” and allowed myself to be alone with my thoughts. It was very therapeutic! I could pray as I walked, I could think of solutions, or just simply breathe and enjoy the world around me.
Going for walks was so good for my mental health, and my self confidence! The problems you’re facing don’t seem as bad when you can hear the birds sing. =)
5. Surround Yourself With Good People
This picture was taken at my wedding during an epic dance party and it means so much to me.
When I see this picture, I see my life. I see people who encouraged me during difficult times, rejoiced with me when times were good, and stood by my side as I joined hands with my husband. I see the people that watched me grow up and grow into the woman I am today.
Now, there is a reason that we only had 100 guests!
Over the years, I decided that it wasn’t worth keeping people around in my life if they made me feel bad about myself. On that day, I wanted to surround myself with people that supported me, cheered me on, and added positivity to my life. Some people were left off the list because they had hurt me, disrespected me, or were bad influences on me.
The important lesson to take away from this is that you should surround yourself with good people EVERY day. Not just on your wedding! Don’t make time for people that are going to drag you down.
Not to say that you shouldn’t love them and reach out to negative people. Just protect yourself from them.
When you surround yourself with good people, you start to feel better about yourself!
You are important and so special! When God looks down at you, He smiles because He loves you! He died on the cross knowing your highs and your lows and He did it anyway because He loves you!
Take care of yourself.
And if you ever need prayer or encouragement, don’t be afraid to let me know!
